New novel coming out

Happy April ! I love it when the flowers bloom and the trees come to life after a hard winter. As I write this, outside my office window we have a Japanese flowering cherry tree and a redbud tree, both showing off their stuff as they do every spring.

It’s been a while since I sent out a newsletter. I’ve devoted my time to writing the sequel to “Brothers by Grace: Coming of Age in 1879.” The new book I’ve been working on so intensely will be called “Brothers by Grace: Fire and Faith.” It can easily be read as a stand-alone book, but if you’ve already read the first one, you’ll have a little more background into the characters.

A sneak preview into the plot:

Solomon Hawk and Jacob Bishop, long-time friends and travel companions, have gone their separate ways to follow different opportunities. Our new story begins when Jacob rejoins Solomon after a tragedy in his life. They pick up the pieces of a plan they devised earlier: Jacob will bring in clients while Solomon, a talented architect, does the design work.

Along with outstanding successes, Solomon and Jacob also face many trials and difficulties: a sudden temptation that could separate them again, difficult clients, negative publicity, false accusations, a lawsuit . . . and then the fires start.

Follow Solomon and Jacob as they rely on their faith to fight through challenges and overcome attacks. Solomon's question is one we all have: Is God truly capable of working all things for good?

I’m asking for prayers for the publishing of the book. The eBook will come out in June, and, Lord willing, the paperback and hardcover will also be available. The printed editions will have a list of Bible references at the back that apply to events taking place in the storyline. I hope that will be helpful for readers who want to learn how Christians apply the Bible to their daily lives. Please pray that the book will reach the readers who need to know that God does work all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

In other news: Since I have experience doing my own formatting (preparing the manuscript for the press) I was hired to format a new book written by another author. It was a satisfying experience that I would welcome again. Her book, “The Secret of the Quilt” by Audrey Garay, is now in print. If you hear of anyone looking for someone to format their manuscript for publishing, please send them my way.

I’ll keep you updated on the progress of “Brothers by Grace: Fire and Faith.” Next month I’ll send a sample page or two to whet your curiosity. In the meantime, Happy Easter!
