Dry Roses and Diary

Cherie Harbridge Williams

Dry Plants

Let me introduce myself. I grew up in Lima, Ohio in the ‘50s. After I married and had two children, my husband’s work took us to different locations in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana before landing in Central Florida in 1979.

During my thirty-eight years in Florida, I worked in the business sector, most notably as a resort manager in the tourist district. I held that position for ten years until I had major surgery and faced a slow recovery. After leaving the resort, my husband and I ran a photography business until his death. After that, my life took a turn, and I worked on the staff of several churches until I remarried.

We moved to Virginia in 2017.  Currently, I enjoy living with my husband in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Lynchburg.  We share three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.

Various hobbies and interests have kept me busy over the years. I was a church organist for decades, loved camping and boating, and even had a go at cheese-making. Some of our happiest times were in the pontoon boat between Lake Kissimmee and Lake Okeechobee, photographing alligators. I love travelling, and of course, writing.

I began my writing career in 2020. At this stage of my life, I don’t want to waste the time I have left. Whatever I can do to point people to Biblical truths, that’s what I want to do. With God’s grace, writing seems to be the perfect vehicle.
