I'm pleased to announce the release of my new novel, "Brothers by Grace: Fire and Faith," on July 1st, less than two weeks from today!

The book features the same protagonists, Solomon Hawk and Jacob Bishop, as "Brothers by Grace: Coming of Age in 1879," but even if you haven't read that book, you'll enjoy this one.
To give you a sneak preview, here is the opening scene:
______________
June 1884
The train station at Bridgeport, Connecticut, pulsed with high energy. Travelers shouted their conversations, trying to make themselves heard over the hubbub of the crowd. Other folks jostled their way toward the tracks to await the train and greet incoming passengers. Porters pushed heavy carts laden with luggage and freight, their iron wheels creaking across the wooden platform. The uproar was overwhelming.
Bump.
Solomon Hawk, a tall, twenty-five-year-old architect in a dark brown business suit, came eye-to-eye with an irritated, gray-haired matron. She was in a hurry. “Young man, watch where you’re going.”
Solomon bent down with a sheepish expression and retrieved the hatbox he had jostled out of the lady’s hand.
“Sorry, ma’am,” he said.
She snatched the box from him and marched off in a huff. His eyes followed her as she blended into the crowd, the bustle of her gray dress bobbing up and down behind her.
An uncomfortable feeling rose in his gut as it always did when he knew he had offended someone. He sighed and tried to forget the unpleasant woman and her hat box.
He waited on the train platform, trying to stay aloof from the crowd. His closest friend was due to arrive from Chicago. Jacob Bishop, also twenty-five, had sold everything he owned in Chicago except his horse and his clothes. He was due in Bridgeport on the afternoon train.
Solomon fidgeted, straining to see any sign of its arrival. He checked his pocket watch, slipped it back into his pocket, then rechecked it a minute later.
Finally, he heard the long whistle blow, signaling the train’s approach. The great iron locomotive rounded the curve, pulling into the station, hissing clouds of steam and clanging its bell.

And so begins the saga of the two young men who wanted to run an architecture business. You'll want to follow them as they encounter one trial after trial, leading to disaster. You'll smile at their relationships with charm
ing ladies, and you'll ask the question they also ask: Can God really work all things to the good of those who love Him, as He says?
The book is available for pre-order from Amazon or directly from my website (below). I have a few pre-release copies in paperback for $14.99. And if you order from me, they'll be signed copies.
Happy reading!
