It's possible to travel back through time right in your living room with a good book. When you're doing your Christmas shopping, remember the readers on your list with a copy of my new novel, "Brothers by Grace: Coming of Age in 1879."
You'll follow Solomon and Jacob, strangers until they meet on a ferry bound for New York. One is newly graduated from Divinity School at Yale, and the other is a blacksmith. They're both trying to escape the stifling expectations of their families. Solomon's father demands that he enter the ministry, for which he has no desire. Jacob faces a life of hard toil and poverty in his father's blacksmith shop. He longs for a better life. So, despite their great differences, they have a lot in common.
Without giving away the plot, I can tell you that "Brothers of Grace" is a coming-of-age story of adventure, uncertainty, high ambition, and God's grace. There's danger, romance, stressful decisions, and . . . there is redemption, which marks a turning point.
If you're looking for a poignant story with a satisfying ending, pick up a copy of "Brothers of Grace." It'll be available for pre-order on Amazon around the end of August.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE to get your free copy of the short story, "Cordelia Wrenn's Camera and the Mystery of the Egged Apothecary." Just go to www.CherieHarbridgeWilliams.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, and put in your email address for a link. You'll enjoy a great Fourth of July parade between the pages. Catch a little summer while you're reading in your warm winter robe!
